Jean
Winn and her husband from Teignmouth, Devon, stayed in a holiday
home for a few days and took their lively new Collie dog along
too. “We had only been at the site for a few hours when
suddenly Fly slipped her lead,” said Jean, “it all
happened so quickly I had no time to give chase.” The
motor home park, surrounded by busy roads suddenly became an
extremely dangerous environment for a disoriented, panic stricken
dog.
Fly had simply
disappeared without trace. “We were beside ourselves
with worry. I knew Fly had no traffic sense and would become
extremely frightened. We spent the next hour in mindless panic
searching and calling.” Fortunately Jean had registered
her dog with the Missing Pets Bureau Petback Protect service
a few weeks prior to their holiday. “It must have been
6th sense because I did not think for a minute I would ever
need this service, but I wanted the best for Fly.”
Fly was discovered in a garden shed a few miles by the busy
main road from the caravan park. She was cowering in the corner,
exhausted and petrified but her Petback Protect tag enabled
Fly’s rescuer to report her missing and thankfully owner
and dog were happily reunited. |
